This Just In! Union and West Receives LEED Gold Certification

We are pleased to announce that the Union and West property located in Walpole, MA just received a LEED Gold certification for its outstanding efforts to maintain a sustainable environment not only for our residents, but also our planet. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and the U.S. Green Building Council certifies green buildings across the globe through this program. 



     

Each LEED building is ranked on a scale of 40 to 80+ points in order to designate how green it is with Gold being the second highest rank that can be received. LEED Gold buildings have scores that range from 60 to 79 points according to a range of criteria such as the use of green materials, energy-efficient systems, and access to public or bicycle transportation options. 

Union and West features LED lighting, energy efficient windows, HVAC systems and water heaters, efficient vehicle charging stations, Nest Learning Thermostats, efficient appliances, as well as bike storage located on site to aid in the reduction of car use.
